In January 2017 the IPC-EUI Project Management Team organises a series of training and workshops on GIs in four different cities in India:
16 January | Kochi |
18 January | Chennai |
20 January | Vijayawada |
21 January | Bangalore |
The action will focus on enhancing the capacity of the Indian productive sector to compete in different markets, especially at local, regional, national and international level.
Training and workshops, which are combined together into a 1-day session, are aimed at IP advisors and attorneys and in particular at GI producers. Emphasis will be on the importance of control and quality standards and on marketing strategies for GI products. There will also be an afternoon session where participants will be asked to come up with their own marketing strategy for their specific GI product taking into account opportunities and threats.
Topics covered refer to both the EU and Indian GI system, GIs and complementarity with other IP rights and our GI experts will share with participants success stories and unsuccessful strategies in marketing GIs.
The output will serve as a basis for the creation of a knowledgeable IP support community and allow producers to get a better understanding of the value and marketing of GI products.
This action will also contribute to networking among GI professionals.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is in charge to coordinate the event in association with EUIPO. Interested participants who would like to attend this event, free of charge, should contact them directly to register.
This event is financed by the European Union
