Training events to take place in India on GIs, quality and Trade Mark Rules 2017

In July 2017 the IPC-EUI Project Management Team organises a series of training and workshops on GIs and new trade mark rules 2017 in four different cities in India:

15 July Varanasi
19 July Jaipur
22 July Goa
24 July Puducherry

The action will focus on enhancing the capacity of the Indian productive sector to compete in different markets, especially at local, regional, national and international level.

Training and workshops, which are combined together into a 1-day session, are aimed at IP advisors and attorneys and in particular at GI producers. Emphasis will be on the importance of control and quality standards and on visibility strategies for GI products. In addition, the Trade Mark Rules 2017 will be briefly presented by the CGPDTM.

Topics covered refer to both, the EU and Indian GI system, GIs and complementarity with other IP rights with strategies to avoid conflicts and the GI experts will share with participants’ successful and unsuccessful stories from both perspectives, EU and Indian.
